This is how you determine your necklace length. The correct length for your necklace is best to measure one of your necklaces or to take a thread to determine the right length with the help of a ruler (see below length chart in cm)

Chain or flexible necklace

  • Unclasp the chain and lay it out straight. Necklace measurements are essentially chain measurements. If you want to measure the chain, you will need to open it up and make it as straight as possible. Lay it out on a table or flat surface so that it will be easy to measure.
  • Clasp your own chain necklace. Lay it in a flat surface and make it as straight as possible. Measure the length with a ruler and by multiplying the measurement by two you can find the exact length.

Tailors soft tape measure or thread

To measure, wrap a soft tape measure or a piece of thread around your neck mark the spot where one end meets the preferable spot. Then lay it against the yardstick or metal measuring tape to determine neck size.

  • Place a flexible tape measure around your neck like a necklace, adjust it to the desired length and note the measurement.

  • Place a piece of string around your neck like a necklace, adjust it to the desired length and note where the ends of the string meet with a pen or marker. Then take your measurement.

Chokers

Always choose a choker that fits comfortably. Take a soft tape measure or take a piece of yarn or string and wrap that around your neck to a comfortable fit marking the point where the end touches itself. Lay the string straight next to a ruler and note the length.

  • Place a flexible tape measure comfortably around your neck to find the size of your neck.

  • Insert a piece of string around your neck. Note where the ends of the cord meet and measure the length.
